Leadership
is calling in sick the day after you came in dead last in the
election you thought you had in the bag.
Too embarrassed to face the staff?
I don’t know why.
You didn’t bother to tell the staff you were running
for office, except for those you were making post-election
deals with. You
were so very sure of that win that you allegedly promised
promotions to loyal staff members or friends – the Assistant
Assessor position for one.
We
have all applied for jobs we wanted and not been selected.
We have all applied for jobs where we felt we were the
most-qualified candidate and not been selected.
Some of us have applied for jobs where we felt we were
the most-qualified candidate and we were not selected by the
Assistant Assessor.
But
all of us were expected to come in to work the next day with
our head held high. It
is not acceptable for us to allow our personal life to
interfere with our performance at work or our attendance at
work.
Why
should we expect any less from the Assistant
Assessor?
Apparently
it WAS too much to expect from the Assistant Assessor.
Which does not set much of an example for staff. And
this is certainly not the
level of responsibility or accountability that one would
expect from a longtime senior staff member who presented himself as
principled and mature enough to run for public office. |
