He was a jerk when he was an appraiser, he is a jerk as ass't assessor and he follows B. Werner around so close if he stops fast it will be a disaster.

Tim Leming will be making a presentation as an "employee" of the assessor's office to the Fresno County MLS membership on February 16th at 8:30 am. Gee, I wonder if this is a push to gain their support for his campaign? Really, what information has the assessor's office gained recently that needs to be presented to the MLS members? In my opinion, it's just a thinly veiled campaign visit. Approved by the Bob. Paid for by the people.

Somehow you loose me at What the F---. Makes one ashamed of the current political process, where civility is nonexistent. Why don't you attach some dates to your ancient history diatribe. I doubt Tim was around when most of this occurred. I'm not a fan of Tim, but really where is your honesty?

I'm sorry, did we "loose" you or "lose" you at What The F__? sure, some of that is old news, but what part of it isn't true? your statement that you aren't a fan of Tim is difficult to believe, if you read the "ancient history diatribe" and the only thing that offended you was the language. I am offended that this is how my tax dollars are being spent.

How interesting. I am in the unique position of having known both Robert Werner the current asssesor and Timothy Lemming many yearts ago. I have known Bob Werner since 1970. He was a junior high friend of my older brother and was quite a rebel rouser prior to getting involved at church. An interesting tidbit: Did you know the Bob lived in a van for two years and took showers at the YMCA to save money for two years? Bob was always a very intelligent guy, although i would have never tagged him for county assessor all those years ago. Tim Leming is another story. I knew him because we attended the same young adult group at church. He was enamored with my girl friend and actually stalked her for about three months. Not the type of character I would want running a county department. He always seemed quite taken with himself.

Funny how, in all your rantings about other employees in your office, you did not mention how the Property Transfers divisions has two Supervising Office Assistants doing the job that one could do... Two employees supervising 12 people? Hardly a good use of government funds. Real Property has one Supervising Office Assistant overseeing 11 employees. Looks like there is some fat to be cut in Property Transfers.

Actually it sounds more like Real Property is woefully undermanaged. Which explains a few things. The complicated work done in Real Property requires closer supervision than they have.

actually Bob talks about his van-living days with great glee. I had trouble picturing him as Assessor as well, but he had some good ideas and he did step up and give it his best effort. I think he listened to his heart and not his brain when he selected Asst Assessor, and with that weak link in place, everything else crumbled. Tim was always an odd duck, and I can believe the stalking! I confess I am shocked to hear that the object of his affection was female. sadly those limited people skills have not improved with time or experience. thank you for the blast from the past!

So you didn't want Dictos. You don't want Pete. You definitely don't want Tim. So who do you want? Ms. Laval apparently! Please, she's the worst choice.

we were presented with a no-win situation from the beginning, and it was always a matter of the lesser of the four evils. I don't know anything about Laval except that she is NOT a Perpetual Candidate, she is not Tim, and while Pete is a nice guy, his cordiality seems to depend on what he thinks you can do for him. plus, both Tim and Pete were prancing around the office before the election acting like they were already Assessor. very mature and certainly demonstrative of what kind of behavior we would have seen after the election.

some people rise to leadership, others crumple into tyrants.

Laval might well be the worst choice, but it's worth it just to see our misogynistic senior management having to deal with a strong (read: uppity) woman they can't bully, ignore, overwork, or lay off.

just getting rid of the good old boys mentality should greatly improve office morale. which is desperately needed after their remarkably dim-witted layoff plan.

wow, I can't even put into words what i think of your views of our office. real property lost 7 appraisers this year, you're all upset because they left of their own accord and you didn't get to see any of them go boo-hoo i got laid off, while you snicker in the corner? what the hell is wrong with you. the only reason pt is losing so many people is because you had a big turnover when the SC took over over there. Correction - the "least efficient division" lost 32% maybe now you guys can get some people over there to get the job done! and you know, rp needs a new supervising oa.......

Where are these misogynistic accusations coming from? What are some examples of the good ole boys mentality you speak of? I have not witnessed anything resembling misogynistic behavior toward women. Most of the management positions in the office are being held by women. Because of my gender, I may not be as sensitive to some of this behavior you speak of. I do not think these broad accusations should be made without facts to back them up.

Are you kidding?  Just look around.  Or better yet, ask a female employee her opinion.  I don't think these are just broad accusations.  I think specific examples have been omitted to protect the innocent from retaliation.

It's probably pretty obvious who's running, or assisting with the running of this site. If I'm correct in my assumption then it's the same person who was named in a same-sex sexual harrassment case in 2001-2002. I hope your memory doesn't fail you - but you allowed your friend, the other Supervising Office Assistant, to harrass a young OA for recieving a job assignment from the Chief Auditor-Appraiser. You were her Supervisor and when she went to you for help, you did nothing. You allowed your friend to spread rumors that the OA was exchanging sexual favors for job assignments. That, specifically, she was exchanging oral copulation. Your friend even made hand gestures whenever the OA would leave his office and then make jokes about in front of the other staff. As her supervisor you were just as guilty for not stepping in. Thus you were also named in the suit. Granted, so was Tim Lemming for doing nothing to stop either of you. In fact, the County plead guilty and agreed to a settlement. It looks like you and your pal Tim have more in common that you let on. It's been 8 long years but I'm happy you finally got what was coming to you. I hope it's pretty obvious who this is coming from. I also hope your brave enough to leave this comment up. Even if you take it down, I'm sure your site is being read more know than ever (if it's still up)! Even if you're the only that reads this - I'm more than satisfied.
